2025 Summer Course on Effective Practices in Teaching and Using the Writing Process

Shenandoah Valley Writing Project presents the Writing Without Fear Summer 2025 online asynchronous one-graduate-credit course open to all. The choice of credit is EDU or WR 695: Special Topics. The course starts June 1 through July 12 and costs only $250. Space is limited to 20 seats. 
 

OF SPECIAL INTEREST TO LITERACY COACHES

 
This one-credit, completely online, asynchronous course introduces participants to effective practices in teaching and using the writing process.
 
This one-credit graduate Course is appropriate for all adult learners (including administrators!).

Tackle any writing project while honing an individual writing process. Learn the theory and practice of composition, applicable to writing classrooms. The course’s teachers earn the  National Writing Project Teacher as Writer Badge.

In subsequent courses, teachers can earn graduate credits and badges for Teacher Leader, Practitioner, Collaborator, Advocate, and Teacher-Researcher. All six badges culminate in the Teacher Consultant Designation. 

 
Teachers completing the course will earn a “Teacher as Writer” badge from the National Writing Project.
 
If interest warrants, subsequent courses will provide teachers with graduate credits and badges as Teacher Leaders, Practitioners, Collaborators, Advocates, and Teacher-Researchers.  
 
All six badges and six graduate credits culminate in the Teacher Consultant designation.
